Sunday nights are my beautification ritual nights. I like the way it makes me feel somewhat more ready to face the next week. Tonight, I started with the #RealChemistry luminous 3-minute peel. It was my first at-home peel, and I was really surprised at how much skin sloughed off! It didn’t burn or tingle, so I hope it doesn’t irritate my skin. I’m holding off on my official birchbox review until I see how my skin reacts, but so far, my skin feels slightly raw (like a really mild sunburn) and definitely smooth.
After that, I showered and tried the #davinesitalia OI shampoo and conditioner. I think right now I might have to declare a tie with the number4haircare product line. The Davines smelled heavily perfumed, but just like the OI oil that I’m used to (is that redundant?). The conditioner was so thick I think I’d call it more of a hair mask. My hair feels pretty darned soft and smells amazing. I never thought of shampoo as luxurious until birchbox.
While I let the conditioner sink in, I showered with the harveyprince ageless liquid loofah. For an exfoliating shower gel, it was not at all what I expected-no rough texture at all. How was it exfoliating? I found the fragrance overwhelming but it faded pretty quickly.
After rinsing, I worked the OI through my hair. I wish this sample had been larger as my hair is long, thick, and curly and this sample was just barely enough for one treatment, while I’ll get two uses out of the shampoo and about 4-5 out of the (HUGE!) conditioner sample. I also applied some of the shiseidoskincare #Ultimmune sample that I got in last month’s box; it’s become a pretty regular thing. It wasn’t a huge sample, but it’s lasting a long time.
I very rarely try this many new products at once, and (almost) all of this came in my September birchbox! Pretty amazing!
